ABRF 2013: Tools for the Advancement of Convergence Science
The Organizing Committee for the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities invites you to join us in Palm Springs, California, March 2-5, 2013, to learn about “Tools for the Advancement of Convergence Science.” The conference will explore and embrace a new trend that combines expertise from a number of disciplines focused on solving problems in biomedical research.
Modern life science technologies core laboratories, with their inherent diversity, have contributed to the Convergence Science concept for a long time. From detailed single molecule analyses to large –omics studies, ABRF members continue to be a driving force in advancing methods for translational science.
This year’s ABRF conference will again provide a unique blend of engaging and insightful presentations that highlight cutting-edge science, novel technological developments, issues in facilities management and operations, and practical information to enhance the optimization and implementation of technologies and techniques within core facility and biomolecular laboratory settings. One of the notable aspects of ABRF 2013 will be the inclusion of a series of concurrent tracks that will allow presenters and attendees to explore and discuss, in depth, critical scientific, technical and administrative issues faced in the areas of Genomics, Proteomics, Light Microscopy and Imaging, and Core Facility Administration and Operations. In the spirit of the theme of the meeting, “Convergence Science”, scientific sessions will also include presentations from innovative investigators who have used tools and technologies from multiple disciplines to help solve scientific and biomedical problems.
Core facility administrators, directors and others in executive leadership roles will also have numerous opportunities for discussion and interaction with colleagues during a comprehensive series of seminars that will address issues associated with core management, administration, finances, operations and public policy.
In addition, numerous social opportunities will be hosted to facilitate connecting and networking with professional colleagues and industry partners! Events include entertaining meeting opening and closing functions, poster session receptions and evening social activities – all of which are meant to strengthen and build ties within the ABRF network. As always, there will be an outstanding host of industry exhibitors showcasing the cutting-edge instrumentation, applications and reagents necessary for the operation of core facilities and biomolecular laboratories.
The Organizing Committee for ABRF 2013 has assembled an exciting program that will be conducted in the traditional environment of networking and social interactions for which the ABRF and its members are well known. The ABRF meeting is the place to go for practical and friendly advice from fellow scientists who have faced the same technical problems as you.
We look forward to seeing you in Palm Springs!
