Workshop goals:
To present practical examples of cutting edge research, tutorials on techniques, and breakout sessions for in-depth discussions.

Background:
Tissue Cell Protein Molecule DNA
Microscope Flow cytometry / Sorting Molecular analysis RNA / DNA

Target Audience:
This workshop will be of great value to researchers who are planning experiments that involve the isolation of single cells from fresh tissue as well as those planning to perform molecular analysis of single cells purified by flow cytometric cell sorting.  Core resource managers will also benefit from the detailed understanding of the overall workflow and requirements of other disciplines.  Individuals who are new to these techniques as well as those who wish to improve their results will gain valuable insight from this panel of speakers.

Workshop Overview:
This workshop would cover the complete workflow involved in successful experiments studying the genomic profiles of single cells isolated from fresh tissue.  Emphasis would be placed on the hands-on techniques involved, experimental design and validation.  Experts from the fields of Cytometry and Genomics will discuss their experiences developing these assays.  The importance of inter-discipline collaborations will be highlighted.
